Sixth Sunday

Readings: Jer 17:5-8; 1 Cor 15:12, 16-20; Lk 6:17, 20-26

People want to participate in their own healing and well-being. At times, the sacraments may appear like a form of magic-a healing without consent.

As a school child I had to place the host from a dish into the chalice for holy communion, I thought I would receive the same host at the alter as I had put in before mass started. The magic of the sacrament of communion is to allow each recipient to be given the body of Christ, in the form of the host.
