Third Sunday of Easter

Readings: Acts 5:27-32; Apoc 5:11-14; Jn 21:1-19

The beauty of Peter's character is fully revealed in the incident by the lakeside when he and the others had breakfast with Jesus.... there was something very special about about the relationship between Simon Peter and Jesus! Peter had an exuberance and spontaneity about him that wouldn't be thwarted by anything.

Second Sunday of Easter

Readings: Acts 5:12-16; Apoc 1:9-13; Jn 20:19-31

It is not doubting that is the problem, rather it is a failure to seek the truth.

Some of the disciples were impetuous peter was one who was prepared to fight for Jesus, in the garden of Gethsemane, Thomas was another who when Jesus talked about going to ~Bethany after they received the news of the death of Lazarus said " let us go, that we may die with him." Thomas was a courageous man who loved Jesus. this was a reason why he found it so difficult to believe it when he was told of the resurrection, he said that he would not believe unless he saw for himself, 'the mark of the nails and the wound of the spear' when he saw Jesus his heart melted and he believed in the resurrection. Jesus told Thomas 'there is another way. the way of faith. Blessed .are those who have not seen and have believed.'
