Prayer of the Elderly

Blessed are thay who understand

My faltering step and shaking hand

Blessed, who know my ears today

must strain to hear the things they say

Blessed, are those who look away

When I spilled tea that weary day.

Blessed are they who, with a cheery smile

stop to chat for a little while

Blessed are they who, know the way

To bring back memories of yesterday.

Blessed are those who never say

"you've told that story twice today"

Blessed are they who, make it known

That I am loved respected and not alone

And Blessed are they who, will ease the days

of my journey home in loving ways.

St Stephens Day

John, rough and ready, was not afraid to face the injustice of Solomone. Elijah was not afraid to take on Jezebel. Jesus is the new Elijah, not afraid to take on the injustices of the world and redeem both the victims and the victimisers.

Mk 11. 11-15

Lord, you came down to earth. Help us to be down-to earth people in the way we treat one another.

 Christmas Day

Mary Mother of God

There is a little humorous story that one day God made a tour of Heaven to check out the recent arrivals. He was taken aback at the quality of many of those who had been allowed in and he went to Peter. the gatekeeper, to ask him toe meaning of this. "You've let me down again" he told Peter, "you have let in a lot of people who should not be here"  "Not me"said Peter "How did they get in?" said God. "Well" said Peter "When I turned them away at the front gate, they went around the back and your mother let them in"

Christmas week

God does not teach us the lessons we need to learn, until we are ready to listern.

God sent his only son to earth to live amongst mankind, the incarnation of Christ teaches us that Our Lord was treated as a baby, a boy and a Man. he was always subject to his parents, Yet all the time he was God.
